In May 2024, 41% of callers were military personnel, and 50% of loved ones, friends, and colleagues of military members. The average counseling session lasted 28 minutes.

On a daily basis Kyiv Institute of Rehabilitation provides support and high-quality assistance to military personnel, war veterans and civilians. Every day, KIR has over 75 patients. High quality rehabilitation service is the main focus. The military rehabilitation course usually takes 28 days.
Assistance has been already provided to more than 2000 military personnel and civilians.

Our psychologists at Varto Zhyty working in the call center for the psychological support of military personnel and their families, underwent offline training conducted by psychologist and CBT therapist Alex Galchinski – a military veteran with 25 years of service, a Major in the Israeli Defense Forces, who participated in combat operations, experienced injuries, and loss of comrades.

200,000 AUD has been raised towards rebuilding a school during a charity event in Sydney
On 23 November all the founding members of UUA participated in an Evening to Protect, Save and Rebuild Ukraine to raise funds for UNITED24, President Zelenskyy’s global fundraising.
A charity event in Sydney resulted in the successful raising of 200,000 AU$, dedicated to the reconstruction of a school in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

6-year-old Marina is learning to ride a bicycle
6-year-old Marina is learning to ride a bicycle as part of rehabilitation at Kyiv Institute of Rehabilitation (KIR).
In May of last year, a Russian rocket struck her home in the Kherson region. The girl suffered severe injuries, which led to the amputation of her leg above the knee. In March, Marina underwent prosthetic treatment and today she is already learning to ride a bicycle!
UUA is funding KIR rehabilitation center and we are very grateful to our donors for helping such recovery stories.

The war in Ukraine has caused not only physical but psychological injuries to the local people. UUA provides ongoing support to a psychological support helpline in Ukraine – Varto Zhyty. This service comprises a group of qualified counselors offering assistance to soldiers, their families, and civilians.

The prosthetics that are being fitted are manufactured overseas and put together in Ukraine. Each one can cost upward of $40,000. This equipment is cutting-edge, with onboard computers to process impulses and control movements - allowing patients to regain a degree of control over their daily lives.
We are not in a position to purchase the prosthetics themselves, but your generosity allows our personnel to fit them and provide ongoing therapy, extending functionality one step, one extra move a day.
