The war in Ukraine has caused not only physical injuries but also psychological trauma to people. UUA is committed to supporting a psychological helpline in Ukraine – ВартоЖити. This service includes a team of qualified psychologists who provide assistance to soldiers and their families.
Here are the statistics for calls received in April 2024:
- Men: 46%
- Women: 52%
- Silent clients or no gender specified: 2%
- Military personnel: 42%
- Loved ones of military personnel, friends, and colleagues: 48%
- Veterans of the ATO in Eastern Ukraine: 2%
- Civilians with crisis requests: 8%
- Average duration of a counselling session: 29 minutes
- Most sessions in one day: 17 (on April 29)
- Longest counselling session: 1 hour 59 minutes (a session with a mother of a soldier who feels guilty for not supporting her son, who joined the army at 18 to defend Ukraine. She is originally from Luhansk, has Russian roots, and needs support and a community of like-minded people).
