- Challenges for Wounded and Discharged Soldiers. These individuals often struggle with feelings of abandonment, expressing sentiments like, "No one needs me," and "I was important while serving, but now no one cares."
- Family Strain. Wives of service members frequently report feelings of betrayal, jealousy, and anxiety as they wait for their husbands to return from the front lines.
- Severe Injuries Impacting Relationships. Wives of seriously wounded soldiers report that due to constant pain and limitations, their husbands often become irritable and aggressive, making cohabitation difficult.
- Increase in Alcohol-Related Calls. There has been a rise in calls from discharged or rehabilitating soldiers who are intoxicated, reflecting fears of abandonment and anxiety about returning to war.
